Classroom Technology
Every student at Saint Ann School from Kindergarten to Eighth Grade is provided a Chromebook. Each student has their own username and password, teaching them both device and internet security. In August 2021, new Chromebooks were purchased for all Middle School students. Chromebooks are used for various programs in the classroom, such as Rosetta Stone for language learning, English/Language/Arts and Math intervention programs, typing improvement programs, and Reading quizzes. All classrooms are also equipped with a Smart Board which are linked via the school-wide internet to the Chromebooks. Smart Boards are used to as a learning tool to teach lessons, project documents, play videos, and print PDFs of notes. Parents can access student information, such as grades & attendance, and email teachers through the FACTS Family Portal. While classroom technology is important to a student’s education and preparation for high school, Saint Ann School’s small class sizes allow for more one-on-one assistance and less dependence on group computer learning methods.
