Science Fair
All students in Grades 4 to 8 at Saint Ann School are required to prepare a Science Fair Project. Students begin their projects first by learning about the scientific method in Science Class.
Project preparation begins in October. Students present their projects to their classmates and teacher in mid-December or early January. The school Science Fair is held in mid-January.
Scientists and engineers from the local Navy installation volunteer to judge the projects. Students are required to present their project to the judge and answer questions. Winners in each grade automatically qualify for the Kern County Science Fair.
Winners at the Kern County Science Fair in Grades 6 to 8 automatically qualify for the CA State Science Fair in Los Angeles. In the Spring of 2016 two students from Saint Ann School qualified for the CA State Science Fair.
