In Memory of Our Beloved Principal,  "Miss G"

The God in me greets the God in you.

Asteria Galacio, 69, (known as “Miss G” to her students) went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 surrounded by her family after a short but valiant battle with cancer. Born in Calamba, Philippines, she was the only daughter of Gaudencio and Agricula Galacio. She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her brother Thomas and his wife Esterlita of Stockton; sisters-in-law Lolita of Stockton and Estela of Australia; and nine nieces & nephews.

“The God in me greets the God in you” is how Miss G welcomed her students every morning. Miss G was a nun for 33 years with the Religious of the Virgin Mary in the Philippines and in California.   With more than thirty years of school administrative experience, she graduated with a Masters in Educational Management from Stanford University. She left the religious order to care for her father in Stockton. Upon his death in 2015, she moved to Ridgecrest to take up a position as 2nd Grade teacher and had just started her second year as School Principal at Saint Ann School. She lived her life in service to others. She was first and foremost an educator who loved her students as if they were her own children. She enjoyed praying with her Sunday Night Rosary Group.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Fr. Denis, Fr. Jim, and the Saint Ann family for their support in her final days.
